I have been buying these each year for gifts during the holidays. Several relatives ASK for them each year, so they must be enjoying them. I keep mine on my desk and start my workday by revealing a new artwork. Sometimes that prompts a text to a friend or relative who has the same calendar just because the artwork reminded me of them. Each page has a good caption giving the artist, date and location of the original. The calendar sits nicely (does not wobble) and is a good size to be viewed from across a large desk. It's a quick reminder that there is beauty all around us - just take a moment to look. At the end of the year I give the pages to a creative 4th grade teacher who finds many uses for them.
We had enjoyed the Met's similar product, but when they switched to a cardboard stand instead of Lucite, we switched to Workman's, and have been totally satisfied. The reproductions are, to my eye, of similar quality, and the selections are equally interesting and diverse.
good for gifting--wish it had more info on art like the county of origin.I see the art as a history lesson as well.
I am an artist and art lover, but I was disappointed in this calendar. There are some days when I actually cover the calendar with something I'd rather look at, and few days when I really love the work of art displayed. Then when you get a crappy one on the weekend, it's there for two days. I'll get a different calendar next year.
I buy this for holiday gifts for family and friends each year. Daily eye candy for the soul when changing the page each day. Be certain to order before Thanksgiving because the supply was limited last fall when I shopped in December. Very sad. That mistake taught me well.
I have purchased a Workingman page a day calendar for several years . Last year it was flowers, and this new year Im trying Art. I love the photos, and large numbers for date. It sits great on my desk.
The pictures are cool, many obscure. The reproductions are good enough. BUT WHY IS THE PRINT SO VERY SMALL? There's plenty of room for reasonably readable writing....please use it. We give away the flower calendars and everyone loves them.
It is so much fun to see a new piece of art 6 days a week, Saturday and Sunday has one piece) we often look up the artist after switching days, so it provides a learning element also. We will definitely get another one next year.
