I feel like this book was a waste of money, and I keep picking it up to read, therefore it's also a waste of time. I wanted to get at least one or two tips from the 150 the author claims to provide to us. Unless you have been living under a rock, none of this is great information. Buy a good pair of shoes, really? Duh.

Wonderful product! Will continue to use :)

This book is almost identical to The Everything New Nurse Book. Same author. Same content. Different title. Only buy one of these Quan books. The Everything New Nurse Book is a bit longer. Both are easy reads.

I bought this book to use while I was orientating new nurses. I gave the book to each new orientee to borrow within the first week. There has been nothing but praise.

This is a nice book for a new nurse.

Very Helpful!

This was a gift and the person receiving it was delighted and thought it would be useful.

Very happy with my purchase. Great product and highly recommend this item to others. Great price too! Good quality as well.

I'm a teacher of drawing and painting, and as such I have a vast library of anatomical resources for drawing the figure. If there's one figure/anatomy resource I'd recommend above all others, this is it. It's a small volume but you get many, many views of each part of the body in different actions, so no matter what angle you're looking for, you'll find it in this book. The poses are gestural and natural, what you really see in life, rather than in a medical setting. There is just enough detail in the structures to identify what they are, but enough generalization to inspire you to research them in more detail. The major muscles are all indexed and numbered in most drawings, but others don't number them--so you can actually test your understanding and recognition. As a teacher, I give this my highest recommendation. Skip Bridgman, and use a good specialized anatomy book for further research. Make this one your go-to. It's compact and easy to carry, beautifully bound for extended use. Carry it with you and draw from it. As Hale said, first we draw what we see, then we draw what we know. Finally, we see what we know. This book will help you see.

I'm on my quest to draw the figure. This is a great compliment to other resources on figure drawing but is unique in a few ways: 1. It's fairly small so you can pack it in your work bag for study on the train 2. It has a really nice back "flap" that opens up with numbered labels of the various parts of the anatomy e.g. scapula, deltoid, etc. This table has the proper name, function, and insertion points. Every drawing is labelled with some of these and if you habitually glance over at the flap as you read, you start to find yourself memorizing insertion points through repetition. 3. The drawings are done in a looser sketchier style which is great for actually learning how one might build up such a drawing (as opposed to wondering if they've done several iterations to get an unrealistically refined final drawing) 4. Price is reasonable at about $20 for the dead tree version. 5. The author is really talented and knows his 'ish about how these anatomical forms work together.I use these in tandem with other resource like the Robert Beverly Hale books on learning from masters (drawing and anatomy), Glen Vilppu manual, Michael Hampton figure drawing book, the Sheppard anatomy for artists book, and a few more popular books for anatomy in drawing circles. I don't think this is a buy just one book on anatomy type of book, but a pretty much mandatory supplement in terms of the features I've mentioned above. No affiliation; just like this book!Fwiw, I first ordered the electronic version and enjoy sketching to that given I can zoom in/out with my computer. However, I had some frustration not having the tables and downloading that separately as a print out seemed cumbersome as I can never keep track of loose papers like this. That said, I'm happy with having both formats.

Yo there are A LOT of anatomy books out there and this little book has become my FAVORITE.I included several photographs I took of the pages. I thought they would be helpful to any artists/people buying a gift for an artist. The book contains dozens of detailed illustrations of skeletal and muscle anatomy. It also includes (which I REALLY appreciate) is reference for fat bodies!I look forward to the release of the other books in this series 👍

It's a great reference. The technical terms can be a bit overwhelming, but the illustrations really help with action and motion drawing. It helps with learning the basic structure of the body and how muscles and tendons work together. Great and easy to read illustrations. Also has tables on either end of the book with abbreviations of labels throughout the book. Great anatomy reference for artists. Definitely helped a lot.

This is an incredible and one of a kind reference for artists. I have not seen any anatomy reference material like this. I can adamantly recommend this book to anyone interested in an in depth look at human anatomy from a perspective different than what you find in most guides.

Morpho: Anatomy for Artists is a superb book teaching you anatomy. I have been studying it and it will improve my life drawings. Plenty of male and female poses are included and this should help with proportions. Nicely sized book and well worth the price.

Wow what an amazing understanding of the human body. I love this book and will surely interweave some of these poses into my art.

Its not instructional at all. It just a book filled with anatomical charts but it a different style. Somewhat disappointed. Was going to preorder the other books but decided this isnt for me.

Very boring workbook for a young child. It has work problem after work problem, no color no pictures. You could save your money and just do print outs. Schoolzone has a better book for half the price.

Like everyone says - it is just a page with 20 problems on it so the girls I work with can't really do more than a page a day but I still really enjoy it. The girls are a little under 4 and this book works for them.I pair it with blocks and ask them to first count out the first number and then add the amount of blocks of the second number, then they count the total. This works pretty well for them. For example: 8 + 1 = ?First she counts 8 blocks out, then we add 1 more block and count the total to get 9.I wish this book had lines because the girls have a lot of trouble making the numbers fit small enough the go next to the equal sign.

I think these books will work very differently with different learning styles. It wasn't made explicit in this book (maybe I missed it) but the kumon method apparently is having a child work for 10 minutes on their own for each of these worksheets and have them stop at the end of the 10 minutes, no matter how little or a lot they've done. I thought this was an interesting approach. Certainly, it leads to less frustration for the student because they have time to work on it but not forced to get through every single problem. It builds the adidtion facts, starting with all the 1s, then the 2's, then the 3's, so on and so forth. the back page of each worksheet is then a mixup fo the problems covered before. It is very tedious and my daughter hated it. But I can see the value in repetition. I believe in allowing children to have fun with math, using manipulatives and playing games, but after a while, there is some good old-fashioned memorization needed (after they understand the concepts). This book can definitely accomplish that purpose but just make sure this isn't killing all of the enthusiasm your child may have. I would use this sparingly, to help reinforce and review but unless your child loves workbooks, this might definitely dampen their desire to do math. I should also add there aren't any colors/pictures, etc to liven up the page (which some kids appreciate, and others just don't care).

After learning that my 6 year old son was struggling in math with below average test scores and getting additional help at school, I decided to try to give him an extra boost with this book. Not only did his MAP score increase by 20+ points, but he is now considered above average!Yes, this book is lots of repetition, but this is exactly what he needs. I just had him do 1-2 pages a day right after school which does not really take long at all. His teacher was so impressed and said she wished all parents were pro-active as I try to be.I plan to continue with the other Kumon series and have him working on subtraction right now as well as writing sentences. I am happy to have found these books as with no school during the summer he tends to forget things so this will be a great way to keep him on track!

I found this to be a great addition book for keeping up my 6-year-old's progress in math during the summer between kindergarten and first grade. I found the Kumon method of incrementally introducing problems that are just slightly harder than the last set to be a very good method. For example, you start off practicing adding 1 to numbers, then 2, until finally you are adding 9 to everything. I found this to be a very elegant and sensible way to organize practice problems. Also another great feature is the number line at the bottom of the page for the "practice" pages. It helped my daughter make the leap from adding on her fingers to managing sums larger than 10 without any problem. The "review" pages do not have the number lines, but by then my daughter had enough practice to tackle the problems without them. All in all, a highly recommended workbook for your child in kindergarten or first grade, especially if they are familiar with the concept of addition but need more practice. (Preschoolers are outside the workbook's recommended age range.)

No graphic content, simply 4+3=, #+#=. Something that everyone can write on a piece of paper while waiting in line or sitting in the car.

My kindergartener is working through this book. She really enjoys it.

My four and half year is already started to pick up on additions. This book is great for those kids who already know their numbers and they are aware of counting. It helps in building the basic concept of addition. I would definitely recommend this book to someone looking to enhance the maths skill of a child in this age group.
