This is a review of the quality of the reissue of the book, of which I do not believe Don Marler would be pleased. The original book is in hardback, nicely formatted with the paragraphs justified. Footnotes properly appear at the bottom of their respective pages and are numbered accordingly. New chapters started at the tops of pages. Marler released a quality product in 1973. The same cannot be said for 2016, through no fault of his.In the poorly proofed 2016 edition, paragraphs are not justified. Some footnotes appear on wrong pages and most are improperly numbered. One is not referenced in the text at all. On page 8, the first footnote for Alan Watts is not marked. The second for him is noted in the text but the corresponding footnote number instead referenced Khalil Gibran, instead of stating "Ibid, p. 88," which appears nowhere in the book.Some paragraphs are indented and some are not. At least two sentences suddenly break off into another line of print, such as on page 14 where after two words on a line, it breaks into the next line of print. There is some punctuation that should not be there as well as some incorrect punctuation. There is capitalization where there should be none and typographical errors.The contents page gives wrong page numbers for the beginning of chapters and all chapters do not start at the top of a page.In the bibliography for the original, the 17 authors referenced are listed alphabetically and are not numbered. In the reissue they are alphabetical (except for incorrectly placing Ayn Rand at the top) and numbered 1-14. It lists Gibran twice and leaves out Fletcher, Kinsey, Marler, Packard and Toffler.The back cover states Mr. Marler "passed away February 2016" when it was on Saturday, January 30, 2016.When people are being charged $12.99 for a paperback and $6.99 for a Kindle edition, there should not be this many clerical errors in the material. Purchases should be temporarily suspended while the book is properly proofed and the multiple errors corrected.
